Government Law College, Thrissur

Government Law College, Thrissur was formed in the year of 1992. The college is approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It is affiliated to the University of Calicut. The college is owned by the Government of Kerala.

Campus

The college campus is located in Ayyanthole, Thrissur, Kerala. The college is well-connected with the railway & road transportation. The campus is situated just 3 km away from the Thrissur Railway Station. The college comprises of the Academics & Students Blocks.

Facilities

The college has a moot court room for live performance to improve the students advocacy skills & analyze legal issues. The library has a huge gathering of journals, books, law magazines, periodicals, reports & projects. The college offers facilities of spacious & air-conditioned classrooms with audio-visual aids. There is also a facility of the canteen, conference hall, medical care center, seminar hall, indoor & outdoor sports, computer lab, etc.

Government Law College, Thrissur runs five years integrated Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Law (BA LLB), three years Bachelor of Law (LLB) & two years Master of Law (LLM). There are 10 seats available for LLM, 80 seats for BA LLB & 100 seats for LLB programmes.

Admission

Those students complete their 10+2 or equivalent examination can apply for the integrated BA LLB course. Students have to obtain minimum 40% marks (35% marks for SC/ST students) in the aggregate. Students seeking admission into LLB programme, they have to pass the graduation degree. Students have to qualify three or five years LLB degree course for admission into LLM programme. The admission into LLB & LLM course will be based on the entrance exam conducted by the Entrance Commissioner, Govt. of Kerala.
