The University of Burdwan, Bardhaman
The University of Burdwan, Bardhaman is a Public University established by West Bengal government in 1960. It is the leading teaching and research University in the Indian state West Bengal. The University is recognized by the University of Grants Commission (UGC). It has 32 academic departments that offers a wide variety of courses in different disciplines.
Campus
The main campus of the University is spreading over an area of 398 acres (approx). It is situated in Rajbati, Burdwan, West Bengal. The campus of the University is well-linked by roads and rails. The nearest airport to Burdwan is at Kolkata.
Facilities
University of Burdwan provides several facilities to its students and faculties and is continuously striving to improve many of the existing facilities and add new facilities. It has a two-storied building of central library that contain the books of all departments. The computer centre of the University is equipped with internet services. The health care services is also provided in the health care centre of the University. There is also a museum and art gallery in the University campus. Programmes
The University regulates course in various departments. The department of law of the University runs 2-years Master of Law (LL.M.), 5-years B.A.LL.B. (Hons) and 3-years LL.B. programme. Minimum eligibility required for admission to LL.B. programme is graduation passed with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC/ST). For admission to integrated law course, one must clear the intermediate examination with the aforesaid marks. 3-years law graduates are eligible for LL.M. programme.
