In 1907, Abraham Darby first used coke in Shropshire, England, to develop the yield of a smelting process. Presently, Coke is widely used to produce carbide ceramics.

How to become a Ceramic Engineer?
Those who aim to become a ceramic engineer must have an engineering degree in ceramic engineering. You can pursue Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ceramic engineering. This can be done as courses after 12th science. The courses are mentioned below:
- Diploma Courses: It is a three year course.
- B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology): It is full time course of four years.
- Integrated Dual Degree (B.Tech-M.Tech): The duration of this course is Five years.
- M.Tech (Master of Technology): This degree duration is two years.
- Ph.D
If you pass higher secondary board examination with Science (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) then you can pursue B.Tech in Ceramic Engineering.
You can also get admission in top colleges, if you qualify any national, state level or any other particular college entrance exam.
Entrance Exam – JEE Main 2024 , CUET 2024 and JEE Advanced 2024
Those interested in diploma course, they have to pass their 10th standard board exam.
