S. Nijalingappa Medical College & HSK Hospital & Research Centre was established in the year 2002. The institution imparts training, education and research in the medical field. The campus has separate admin, academic and a student block and is spread over a spacious area of 114 acres of land situated between the new (Navanagar) and the old city of Bagalkot.

Programme
Nijalingappa Medical College & HSK Hospital & Research Centre offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the medical field. It offers undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme and postgraduate degree in MD and MS programmes. The duration of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme is four and a half years with a one year of compulsory internship training. The duration of the MD (Doctor of Medcine) and MS (Master of Surgery) courses are three years.
