Tamil Nadu Government Dental College, Chennai
The foundation of Tamil Nadu Government Dental College, Chennai was laid down on August 10, 1953. The college is also known as Government Dental Hospital and College. It is the dental wing of Madras Medical college. The institution has been affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
Campus
The campus of Tamil Nadu Government Dental College is situated in the capital city of Tamil Nadu. It is located No. 1, Frazer Bridge Road near TNPSC Office of Chennai. The campus houses administrative block, academic building and hospital.
Facilities
The campus is equipped with all the necessary facilities that meets the requirements of the students. The college has well-established library loaded with books, journals, magazines, daily newspapers, etc. The lecture rooms are highly ventilated and well lightened. The college offers UG and PG courses in the field of dentistry. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) has the course duration of 51/2 years including one year rotating internship. Total 100 seats are available for this course. Besides this, the college also runs master’s course of 3 years and has a seat capacity of 35.
