Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College Hospital & Research Institute, Ludhiana was started in the year 1998 with the aim to produce competent and dedicated dental graduates that works for the cause of oral health. The institution is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, faridkot and affiliated to the Dental Council of India (DCI), New Delhi.
Campus
The college has the sprawling campus that covers the area of more than 11 acres of land. It is situated in Chandigarh road of Ludhiana district, Punjab. The campus houses the functional administrative block, pre clinical, medical and dental departments along with laboratories. The campus is dotted with greenaries and provides all the modern facilities.
Facilities
The college has the well-maintained library accommodates the dental books, highly ventilated lecture halls are furnished with latest teaching aids, hostel availability for boys and girls with mess facility that serves nutritious and hygienic food, cafeteria caters the refreshments and snacks, sports complex in the campus, a large auditorium for conducting events and a recreation centre. It also has state-of-the-art dental hospital where the dental teaching is conducted. The hospital is having all the modern equipments and facilities.
Programmes
The college provides the dental education and offers the programmes like BDS. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is the professional course that provides the Bachelor degree in dentistry on the successful completion of 4 year academic education followed by 1 year compulsory internship conducted in the hospital of college. The college admits the fresh batch of 100 students every year in the BDS programme.
