Dayanad Ayurvedic College Hospital and Pharmacy, Jalandhar
Dayanad Ayurvedic College Hospital and Pharmacy, Jalandhar was established in the year of 1898 in Lahore. But after the partition it was re-established at Amritsar then it was shifted to Jalandhar in 1953. The college is approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicine and affiliated to the Guru Ravidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur.
Campus
The campus is located at the Mahatama Hans Raj Marg, Jalandar, Punjab. The college has a separate student blocks and administrative blocks. It is well-connected with the rail and road transportation facility.
Facilities
The library of the college has a huge collection of books on Ayurveda and modern medicines, newspapers, magazine, rare books, textbooks and journals. The library has a seating arrangement of about 25 students and 15 staff members at a time. The college has a girl’s hostel with a capacity of 140 students. There is also a boy’s hostel with a capacity of 42 students. Other facilities are audio-visual aids, canteen, laboratory, yoga center, seminar hall, computer center, hospital, etc.
Programmes
The Dayanad Ayurvedic College Hospital and Pharmacy, Jalandhar provides 4 ½ years main course + 1 year of compulsory internship Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) Program. The college offers 50 seats for the BAMS programme at graduation level. The admission and selection in the college is done as per the guidelines of the Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Punjab, Hoshiarpur.
Internship
After passing the final examination, the compulsory rotating internship is offered by the college in the college hospital. On the completion of the internship, the candidate shall be eligible for the award of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) Program degree.
