Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi
The foundation of Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College, Jhansi was laid down in 1968 after the “Queen of Jhansi” Maharani Laxmi Bai. The motive of the college is to provide the medical treatment to the poor people of Bundelkhand. The institution is affiliated to the Bundelkhand University and recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Campus
The college has a large campus spreading over the area of 380 acres of land, It is one of the medical college that has the huge campus in the country. It is located in the historic city Jhansi of Uttar Pradesh state. The campus includes academic block, functional administrative block, hospital; block and hostel block.
Facilities
The college has state-of-the-art-infrastructural facilities that include lecture theatres, computer lab equipped with all the computing facilities, an auditorium for organizing events, skill laboratory, recreational facilities that include indoor and outdoor games, medical facilities for students and staff members, residential facility for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The college has central library including departmental library. The hospital block is also available in the campus that along with medical assistance also provides the clinical experience to the students.
Programmes
The college offers the medicine education in various disciplines. It offers UG level as well as PG level courses. The courses are available in the trending disciplines. The college runs Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD). Nowadays, MBBS is the most demanding course and the duration of this course is 4.5 years plus one year internship.
