Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, New Delhi
Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS), New Delhi is the reputed educational institution came into existence in the year 1995. It is the autonomous institution approved by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Previously, the dental wing of the college is combined with the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) but in 2006 the institution was renamed as the MAIDS. The institution has received the accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health Care Providers (NABH).
Campus
The campus of MAIDS is situated in Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. The institution has 9 departments of multi specialty tertiary care. The four renowned landmarks hospitals of city include Maulana Azad Medical College, Lok Nayak Hospital, G.B Pant and Guru Nanak Eye Centre.
Facilities
The facilities offered by the institution for the comfortable learning of students include library that contains the books of all departments. In addition to books, the library also houses journals, CDs, etc. The lecture halls are equipped with modern aids. For seminar purpose, a spacious seminar hall is there in the campus premises. The campus houses an exclusive laboratory for performing practical’s. The college also provides the fooding facility to students and staff members.
Programmes
The institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the students who want to make their career in medical field. The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) are offered by the institution. BDS is of 5-years programme (comprising 1 year internship) and MDS is the 3-years course. The students are not eligible for BDS degree without one year internship. The medical courses offered are:
