KEAM 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the KEAM 2025 Application Form, candidates must check the complete eligibility criteria. The eligibility details will be given below:
Nationality:
- The appearing candidates should be an Indian citizen.
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) will be also eligible to apply but they will not be entitled to claim any reservation.
Category wise Eligibility:
The candidates seeking for the KEAM 2025 will be categorized as follows:
Keralite:
The candidates who hold the domicile certificate of Kerala will come in this category. If the parents are employees of All India Services of Kerala then the children will be considered as ‘Keralite’ and eligible to apply without claiming any reservation.
Non-Keralite-1:
The candidates who are not Kerala origin and even their parents also don’t have any residence proof of Kerala, but satisfying the following candidates:
- Students who have Passed their qualifying examination from Kerala and Parents are posted in Kerala as employees of defence or central government.
- The candidates whose parents are serving/ served Kerala Government for a period of 2 years and appearing/appeared qualifying examination from Kerala will come in this category and eligible for applying.
- In case, if the candidate is not the permanent resident of Kerala but spent 5 years of his/her study in Kerala then he/she will also be eligible.
- Those who do not have a domicile certificate of Kerala but completed/pursuing their 8th to 12th studies from Kerala will be also eligible for KEAM 2025.
Note: The candidates of Non-Keralite-1 will be considered for ‘State Merit’ seats of Engineering/ B.Pharma/ Architecture/ Medical & Allied courses. These candidates will be eligible to claim any reservation.
Non-Keralite Category II:
Those who do not fall under Keralite or Non-Keralite-1 will come under Non-Keralite Category II. This category candidate will be eligible for admission to Government seats and Management quota seats in engineering courses in Government Controlled Self-financing Colleges.
Besides this, Non-Keralite Category II candidates will be eligible for applying to Government Seats in Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges only when the Keralite and Non-Keralite I (NK I) candidates will be not available for admission.
These candidates will also be eligible for admission to Government Seats and Management Quota seats in Private Self Financing Engineering/Architecture Colleges.
NK II candidates will be also eligible for admission to a maximum of 10% seats under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Pharmacy colleges.
‘Non-Keralite Category II’ (NK II) candidates will be not eligible for admission to Medical and Allied Courses including MBBS/BDS and for admission to Government Engineering Colleges.
Age Criteria:
- Lower Age Limit: The minimum age required for KEAM 2025 will be 18 years. The candidates who have completed 18 years of age as on the 31st December 2025 will be also eligible for applying.
- Upper Age Limit: There will be no upper age limit for KEAM 2025 examination.
Qualification Criteria:
- Appearing Candidates will also be eligible.
For Engineering Courses:
For B.Tech Courses (including Agriculture Engineering/ Food Engineering & Technology/ Dairy Technology/ Food Technology):
- Qualifying Examination: Candidates must qualify for the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent thereto from a recognised board.
- Minimum Marks: It will be required for the aspirants to pass qualifying examination with 45% marks (40% for ST/ SC/ SEBC /PD quota) in PCM subjects when put together.
- If the candidates have passed the above examination with 45% marks in PCM put together, then he/she will be eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.
- In case, candidates do not study chemistry subject, then marks secured in computer science subject will be considered.
- If candidates have not studied computer science & chemistry subjects, then the marks scored in Biotechnology will be considered.
- In case, candidates not study Chemistry, Biotechnology and Computer Science, the marks secured in Biology will be considered.
Note:
- In two year Kerala Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto with the two-year course where the Board Examinations are conducted in both years, the total marks of two years in the respective subjects as shown in the marksheet of the respective HSC Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.
- In HSC or examinations recognised equivalent thereto where Board Examinations will be conducted only at the end of 12th class (final year), the marks in the respective subjects as shown in the marksheet of the respective HSC will be considered for academic eligibility.
- For all other types of Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, the marks of the respective subjects as shown in the mark list of the respective Board of Examinations will be considered for academic eligibility.
For B.Tech (Dairy Technology):
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass the 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- Minimum Marks: Qualify the above examination with 50% marks in Mathematics/ Biology separable & 50% marks in PCM/ B put together.
Note: The Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, will be recognised as equivalent to the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala.
For Architecture Course (B.Arch):
- Qualifying Exam: The aspirants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- 10+3 Diploma (any stream) candidates will be also eligible to apply for this exam with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
- International Baccalaureate Diploma (after 10 years of schooling) candidates with not less than 50% marks in aggregate & with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination may also apply.
- Subjects: Candidates must pass the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above exam with 50% aggregate marks as well as 50% marks in each PCM subjects.
- NATA Score: The admission will be done on the basis of NATA scores. Students must get qualified in NATA on or before 30th June 2025.
- There will be no relaxation in the minimum passing score of NATA to any category candidate.
For Pharmacy Courses:

For B.Pharma Course:
- Qualifying Exam: Pass Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the qualifying examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics as optional subjects securing 50% marks in PCMB subjects put together and separate minimum pass marks in each of these subjects.

- Qualifying Exam: Candidates should pass higher secondary examination or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Subjects: Pass the above examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology subjects.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately & 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together.
- NEET Score: Only NEET 2025 appearing candidates will be able to apply for this exam.
For BAMS/BHMS Courses:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Subjects: Pass the above examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 50% marks in Biology separately & 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.
- NEET Score: Only NEET 2025 appearing candidates will be eligible to apply for this exam.
For BUMS Course:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Subjects: Pass the above examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 50% marks in PCB subjects & 50% marks separately in Biology.
- Candidates should pass 10th class with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or clear the test of Urdu in the Entrance Examination conducted by the University or Board or Registered Society authorized by the Government to conduct such examination or pre-Tib examination of one-year duration.
- NEET Score: Only NEET 2025 appearing candidates will be eligible to apply for this exam.
For B.Sc.(Hons.)Agriculture/Forestry, BFSc Courses:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology put together & 50% marks separately in Biology.
- NEET Score: Only NEET 2025 appearing candidates will be eligible to apply for this exam.
For BVSc. & AH Course:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized board.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with not less than 50% marks in English, PCB subjects.
- NEET Score: Only NEET 2025 appearing candidates will be eligible to apply for this exam.
For B.Sc. Degree Holders:
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates, those pass B.Sc. degree with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main subjects, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries will be eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BAMS courses.
- Minimum Marks: Pass the above examination with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together.
Relaxation:
- For all the courses, students belonging to socially and Educationally Backward Classes will be given a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination.
- SC/ST candidates will need only to pass in the qualifying examination.
- However, for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates with Locomotors disability of lower limbs between 40% to 70% need only 45% marks in case of Biology/ Biotechnology and 45% marks in case of optional subjects put together for admission to MBBS/BDS courses (as per the Guidelines of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India).
- The candidates belonging to PD category will have a relaxation of 5 % marks in the qualifying examination for Engineering and Medical Allied Courses.
- Provided that in cases where only grades will be given for qualifying examination and marks will be not mentioned, the grade covering 45% marks will be considered as the criterion for eligibility.
