Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh

Rajiv Gandhi University was established in the year 1984. It is the oldest university in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. The foundation stone of the university was laid by the Prime Minister of India late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The University is the premier institution for higher education in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The University got academic recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) on 28th March 1985. The university has extended educational facilities to the students from neighboring states particularly Assam.

Campus

Rajiv Gandhi University is located at Rono Hill, in the area of 302 acres overlooking the river Dikrong. It is 6.5 km away from the National Highway 52 –A and 25 km away from Itanagar, the state capital of Arunachal Pradesh. The campus is linked with the National Highway by a Dikrong Bridge.

Facilities

The University provides all major facilities to the students such as auditorium, bio bioinformatics facility, botanical garden, computer centre, EDUSAT facility, health centre, instrument maintenance facility, library, fully wi-fi campus, training and placement cell, xerox, dispensary, canteen facility, women Techno Park, and VAST facility.

Programmes

Rajiv Gandhi University is offering education in the faculties of languages, engineering and information technology, management and commerce, social sciences, life sciences, environmental sciences, education and basic sciences. The University also offers UG, PG, M.Phil and PhD courses in following engineering fields:

  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
