Global College of Engineering and Technology, Ropar
Global College of Engineering and Technology, (GCET) Ropar, is a private aided engineering college established in the year 2008. The college is set up by the Global Knowledgeware Foundation, an Educational Trust with the vision of providing quality technical education in the region. The college believe in total education and strives to create Global Professionals who are creative and innovative in thinking and applying thoughts. The college is affiliated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar and approved by AICTE New Delhi.
Campus:
The GCET is located at Anandpur Sahib in Ropar district of Punjab. The college campus of GCET is spread in a scenic and pollution free environment. The college is located near the bus station and is 15 km from the Rupnagar railway station.
Programmes:
The college is offering five courses in undergraduate engineering discipline, leading to the degree of B.tech. The college is also offering courses in various diploma disciplines. All the courses offered by the college are approved by AICTE and affiliated to PTU Jalandhar. The students are admitted to the B.tech programs on the basis of JEE score.
Facilities:
The college provides all major facilities like well equipped labs, fully featured workshops, well ventilated classrooms with audio visual aids. The college has well stocked library comprising of large volumes of books and journals; the other facility provided by the GCET includes transportation, medical, mess and canteen, and sports facility.
Placement:
The college has an Industry Institute Partnership Cell (IIPC) and T&P division which helps the students in their training and placement related activities. The cell regularly organizes industrial visits, provide training to faculties, organizing pre-placement talks by industry experts.
Activities:
The major activities that are organized in the college include Debates, Seminars and Guest lectures, Inter College Competitions, youth festivals; sports and cultural activities.
