The UBKV is also stands for Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Pundibari. It is a private university established by West Bengal Act XX of 2000 in 1 February 2001.This university provides various UG and PG Courses in the field of Horticulture, Agriculture and Forestry. Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (UBKV), Pundibari is also accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research and approved by UGC (University Grand Commission).

Uttar Banga Krishi Vishwavidyalaya is situated at Pundibari, in the district of Cooch Behar. It is located by the side of NH (National Highway) 31 which leads to Cooch Behar to Siliguri. The nearest railway station is New Cooch Behar (which lies in between Kolkata and Guwahati train route) and the nearest airport is Bagdogra (184 km away from the university head quarters).
