The Birbhum Institute of Engineering Technology was set up in 1999 by Indian Centre for Advancement of Research and Education (ICARE) under the chairmanship of Shri Somnath Chatterjee and Vice Chairmanship of Shri Pranab Mukherjee. This Govt. Aided Institution is approved by AICTE. The main aim of the University is to teach quality professional/ specialized instruction to the students.

The Birbhum Institute of Engineering Technology is emerged as the pioneer engineering institute which is situated at extensive techno composite of 32 acres of land at Suri, Birbhum.
