Government Engineering College, Raipur

The Government Engineering College (GEC), Raipur is one of the oldest institutions of Chhattisgarh state. It was established in the year 1956. The college is approved by the AICTE and affiliated to the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University. It is a fully government engineering college.

Campus

The campus is located at outside of the hustle and bustle environment in the Raipur city. The campus is spread over the plain in Sejbahar on Old Dhamtari Road in Raipur, the district and capital of Chhattisgarh. The total built-up area of the campus is according to the AICTE norms.

Facilities

The campus has some major facilities like separate hostels for boys and girls, well-stocked digital library, central computer centre, well-equipped laboratory, workshop, canteen, medical facility, transport facility, 24 hour’s internet facility, indoor & outdoor sport facility and good infrastructure.

Programmes

The college is offering UG (B.Tech) degree course in five disciplines of the engineering and technology. The total numbers of seats which have been offered by the college are around 300 seats including the fee waiver seats. The main engineering disciplines are as the following:

Placement

The campus has a well established training & placement cell. The cell is continuously providing the summer internship, industrial training and final placement to the students of this college. The major recruiters of the college are Reliance, Mahindra Satyam, Essar, Lester, Syntel Infosys, Wipro, Sutherland Technology and Tata Consultancy Services.
